“Having all of our live Salesforce data on a map from customers to third-party haulers has been a game changer.”
– Matthew Lillie, Revenue Operations Manager
Vanguard Renewables is a national leader in transforming food and dairy waste into renewable energy through its Farm Powered® anaerobic digestion technology. Headquartered in Weston, Massachusetts, the company builds, owns, and operates on-farm anaerobic digester facilities across the United States, converting organic waste into renewable natural gas (RNG). With a mission to decarbonize the planet and support regenerative agriculture, Vanguard Renewables is expanding its operations nationwide, aiming to complete over 100 anaerobic digestion facilities by 2028.
Before Geopointe, Vanguard Renewables was relying on spreadsheets and static maps to manage their third-party disposal sites, customers, and haulers. The manual effort required to keep location data current along with limited visibility into proximity made it hard for teams to work efficiently.
“We were putting data on a map, but it wasn’t live. Every time something changed, we had to go in and manually update it,” shared Matthew Lillie, Revenue Operations Manager.
Given how proximity impacts pricing in their business model, Vanguard needed a smarter, Salesforce-integrated mapping solution to visualize their data and act on it.
Initially, they started to use Geopointe strictly for admin and visualization capabilities. What started as a small deployment with only a few Geopointe “champions” quickly evolved. As the organization scaled, demand grew from both the sales and logistics teams.
Most recently, they added 30 new licenses, expanding the solution across sales representatives and those identifying third-party haulers and disposal sites nationwide.
They now use Geopointe’s Nearby Search, Lightning Component, and custom map buttons to power use cases across departments from prospecting and logistics to campaign planning and event outreach.
Vanguard’s team continues to explore new use cases from route building to campaign targeting with a focus on expanding Geopointe adoption as they see fit. With growing field activity and national coverage, Geopointe’s flexibility and support make it an essential tool in their tech stack.
“Start with a few super users — that really helped us prove the value internally before rolling it out company-wide,” said Matt. He also recommends using the Nearby Lightning Component and customizing maps for your team’s needs. “It’s just a smarter way to work.”
